My four temu items, starting with the black and white lace flowers, post 265

 Four items arrived all together. Such fun. 

I had been looking for a long dress with a matching long jacket. Usually sold at around twenty pounds, sometimes nearer forty. I decided to opt for the cheapest as some of the reviews were not favourable.

265 1 The Little Black Dress

I was seduced by the picture of a black and white top. I do not need more tops. I have umpteen tops. You then have to spend hours finding something to match. On hoidy you are never as put together as other people in expensive dresses, or even cheap dersses. 

Besides, a top can end up too short, leaving a bar midriff, hanging lopsided. Or too long, bulky when tucked in.

However, I am short so a long tunic top in a large size might do as a dress for me. it could be worn over a long black satin effect half slip. 

This top and a white flower lace double lace-strap, no sleeve. 

Yes, pretty and sophisticated. black and white does for all seasons.

I wore it with both strps over my shoulders. It was not until I looked back at the picture under my orders, that I realised the second strap was meant to hang down over your shoulder.

    Sweater embroidered with mock pearls matches my hat pinned with mock pearl brooches.  I had never worn this pale grey sweater  I thought pale grey was a boring colour and always opted for something brighter such as royal blue or bight red. Stripey Red & White Socks, thigh high, and tights - outfit 679 by Angela Lansbury

  I bought a pair of knee high red and white stripe socks in St Luke's charity shop. At one pound or under, you can't lose much. (Their charity fundraising shops are in NW London in Hatch End, Harrow Weald and elsewhere.) Why did I buy the long socks, in hard to match, garish, childish, stripes - after hesitation and consideration? The Advantages Of Long Socks The  length was attractive, at this time of year. I often need long socks under a midi skirt. For warmth in winter. And not to show bit of bare legs above socks. To co-ordinate colours. Advantages and Disadvantages of Red and White Stripes I like red. It's fun. White can show dirt quickly.  Red and white is a bit restrictive. It will clash with patterns, only go with plain reds and whites. But under a table at dinner or on Zoom nobody else will notice. Nor will I. I will only feel them.
