The Skirt
The red skirt is from label Indigo Moon. Bought from ebay. Vintage.
You can find many sIndigo Moon label skirts, tops and occasionally matching skirt suits or trouser suits (pant suits) on ebay.
The Red Scarf
The red scarf is a piece of remnant fabric from Spotlight store in Auckland, North Island, New Zealand. It cost under five pounds. No need to cut or sew the edges. I could wear it staright away.
The only problem was that the remnant rolled up and fastened with sticky tape. (In the UK we use the brand name Sellotape.) The sticky tape when removed pulled off a few of the gold foil dots. However, when I wore it, the missing or damaged dots were not noticeable.
Note to myself. Never put stick tape on top of embossed print or decoration on fabric.
The Pendant
The pendant is black and trnsparent plaid (tartan). It has a black bead necklace. I bought it in the St Luke's Hospice shop in Hatch End.
Inside the shop I looked through the rack of necklaces to see if anything caught me eye. It was black and white.
I thought,
'I don't need another necklace. I don't need black and white. I could wear it for evenings, but for dressy occasions I mostly wear gold or silver or gold effect or silver effect. I might prefer costume jewellery in the evening on public transport or a busy place to guard against loss if it was stolen or broke.
'I wonder if it goes with red which I often wear in the daytime?'
I held it against my red sleeve and was astonished and delighted to find that it was partly transparent and showed through a murky version of the colour of the fabric underneath.
Very handy for travelling as it matches everything.
If you make jewellery and can design items which are part see-through, bear this in mind.
This works best with a high neck dress to the colour underneath is permanently seen. Otherwise with a v neck dress the pendant moves about and shows half your skin and half the fabric. I realised this when we took a photo of me wearing it.
The Cape Jacket
The red split sleeve jacket is from Shein. In a sale.
The Knitted Cardigan
The label says Prodigy RED.
The washing label says size 14. 95% vuscie, 5% elastane. Wash (deep colours) separately. Made in UK. Iron on low, one dot. No dry cleaning, tumbling nor bleach.
It is long, open front light weight and not very warm.
The Red Skirt
The red skirt is from Indigo Moon. So handy. For daytime. Thick warm fabric. Small embroidered design. If the skirt design clashes with the top, I turn the skirt to put the design at the side or back.
The skirt has no pockets. I like pockets. However, having no pockets makes it easy to turn the skirt and wear it back to front, or to the side.
