Wonderful striped shirt. Enhances the appearance of the wearer. Jolly colours.

Some people say, "It looks like pyjamas." Not to me, it doesn't. 

The brand name is on the vertical edge of the cloudy white buttons on the cuffs.

The Gant company started many moons ago, 1949 to be exact, in the USA by a Bernard Gantmacher, a Jewish immigrant from the Ukraine. He had started making shirts for other companies. After the end of WW his two sons persuaded him to start their own brand of shirts. Macher means maker, and gant, not French for glove but German or Yiddish for whole. His son inherited and shortened the name to Gant. Eventually the company was bought up, changed hands several times, and now has its headquarters in Sweden.
The Gant company website gives an interesting detailed history of how men shirts in the USA became colourful. And how they promoted the shirts as being luurious as well a sincluding the brand logo and name. At once time the logo appeared on the shirt pocket.

What if you like the stripey, colourfu look? I found this shirt online from Gant for 125 pounds. 
Striped shirts in just two contrasting colours come from Temu. 
A search for Gant shirts brings up several suppliers. 
John Lewis does price matching. Find it elsewhere cheaper, 
Light in the box has one for 27 pounds sterling.

But maybe John Lewis is your favourite store, or nearer, or you are in their store about to buy, no need to go off elsewhere, show them the link. Provided the same item is current (not a sale price ten years ago) they will match it.

Blue H & M Dress, dress of the day 393

But I had a white blouse, so I wore this. On the internet and on Facebook you can see lots of videos of how to tie a scarf, but mine is simply hanging, which partly obscures the cleavage.  Cleavage cover I had a choice. To insert a dickey or false front, also called a removable or detachable collar. I have one or two which are plain white.  The alternative which saves hunting for a matching dickey without distracting collar colours and embrodiery, is simply to add a fastening. I decided that a snap or press stud fastener in small size is qhich to fasten and unlikely to pull apart (as opposed to hook and eye. Survival Clothes and Kits For Holidays, Home & Away post 510

I read in the news today that the French have issued instructions on preparing a survival kit for householders.  Convenient Carry Bag Your house should have a bag you can carry, or sling in a car. Your handbag or tote bag or holdall should have a few essentials. When hiking I wear clothes with pockets and have a rucksack with have pockets water, food and sting relief, and insect repallent, and maps and phone numbers. I also put the hospital nubers in my phone. Survival Kit Everybody should have a survival kit by their door, as well as a first aid box in the bathroom and a burns kit in the kitchen. Also clothes! Japanese The Japanese are reputed to keep survival kit by the door. Why? In case of earthquakes. Travellers should have a first aid kit. In their suitcase or bag. And in cars. Plus spare clothes.
