Sparkly Pink Necklace

Sparkly necklace in pink with imitation pearls. 

A gift from a new friend. I admired hers and she gave me one.

If you look carefully at the necklace, you see it has a beach theme. Five point stars with elongated points are, in fact, starfish shape, some plane gilt (gold paint or shiny gold effect). Small and large elements are shell shapes in pink with gilt fanned lines. 

The imitation pearls look like pearl which grow inside shellfish. These pearlies are in three sizes, some like pearls in cups, others like half pearls, dome shape.

I then counted the shapes. thirteen starfish. The design is like a shallow v. Thirteen starfish, some plain gold colour, some pink sparkles, others with plain sparkles. Twenty one pearlies. Thirteen shell designs, a mixture of pink with gold lines, and covered with sparkles.

This is much more complicated than anything you could make yourself by stringing beads. Even soldering by hand would take ages. I wonder if it is machine made.

Now I see the number of elements in the design and the manufacture, it does not seem so expensive. 

The Manufacturer's Mark

It has near the clasp an oval disc. It is a small oval, about the size of the nail on my little finger. I have small hands. This is what you see on silver and gold jewelery, with the letters 925 on real silver. In the days when people wore gold jewellery, you would have the manufacturer's initials and symbol. This disc has the letter A for Accessorize.

The Popularity Of The Letter A

My name, Angela, starts with A. Nowadays the name Angela is out of fashion. However, Ava, starting with A, is one of the top ten favourite names for girls. So if your name starts with A, or you want to give somebody a present, a gift with the tag containing the letter A is a bonus. 

Leopard Print Dresses

While I was on the Accessorize website looking for jewellery, I clicked on dresses, then brown, to find leaopard pattern. The website also sells a puffed sleeve, shirred bust leapoard print dress for fifty pounds. I was offered, twenty percent off  - if you sign up with your email or phone for future notifications about their products. 

Another leopard print dress on the website is cheaper, about thirty pounds. You get less fabric for less money.  Sleeveless means less fabric for the manufacturer. But, less body coverage for the buyer. 

On the plus side, this dress is even more summery, a sleeveless bandeau dress. You could carry a cream colour, beighe, brown, black or white jacket or scarf for the cooler evening, a breezy day, or indoors in air conditioning.
