Searching For Suits, Two Piece Outfits Online

I had started looking for my favourite vintage, second hand, Anthony Sicary outfits.

Anthony Sicari Outfits - Advantages

 I like three pieces with a scarf, failing that two pieces. The batwing sleeve tops suit my yo-yoing weight, so that any size will fit, and look elegant. over my large arms and large thighs. 

Not much came up in Anthony Sicary, even though it's all second-hand, in three pieces. I bought a top on its own. 

Then I hunted online on ebay for skirt and matching jacket. Two piece outfit. Any brand.

Up popped this. Anthony Mark Hankins.

 Long skirt and matching long-sleeved loose open front top. Yes! 

I saw the dark swirly peacock blue pattern, with jolly little squares of orange peeping through. I thought that looked attractive, attention-getting, original, enticing. The price was right. So I bought it.

It arrived crumpled, scrunched up in the post in a plastic bag. I hesitated to wear it. I hung it up overnight. 

The next day, the creases had fallen out. Hurray! Success.  No need to iron. My new outfit looked fresh and elegant.

Just as the proof of the pudding is in the eating, the test of a garment is when you take it off the hanger, or out of the packet, and wear it. Does it look right? Feel right?

My screen enhances colours, makes everything lighter and brighter. Unlike the screen pictures, the fabric colour was quite dark. I've eventually got used to it. It's soothing.

I wanted to brighten it up. I needed accessories in warm colours. 

To sum up, 

The Red Vest from Collezione

I matched it up with a bright orange-red short sleeved top. Label Collezione. Made in Italy.

 Tight as a vest. Stretchy. 

Shiny. Smart enough to be worn us a tight tee-shirt.

Red-orange Pearly Discs Necklace 

Then, a circular disc necklace in bright orangey red. I bought it in St Luke's charity shop in London. I love large round shapes. I found circles soothing. I am not keen on sharp edged traingles They catch in clothes. Sometimes they scratch. They look aggressive. No - it's circles for me. Even large circles on pendants are not too overpowering.

I have sandals in brick red, you could call it dusty orange,. Brand Josef Seibel. With a slight heel. But the dark blue fabric was a bit depressing. I needed a bright colour to look down at. 

I chose bright orange Cushion Walk sandals. Velcro makes a flexible size ankle strap and the second strap across the toes.  Size 4. 

The sandals have a fancy flower across the toes. The flower has lots of small petals. The flower makes the sandals more elegant. Good enough for evening. Fine for daytime.


Lightweight Fabric - Feels Free!

Loose fit. Comfortable. But not enhancing your figure. I deal for sitting at home.

I've watched those videos which pop up in Facebook, showing you have to fold a pleat and secure it inside with a lrage vertical safety pin. Then the same on the other side. Two under bust dars to accentuate your waist, both sides, to create a fitted look.

However, part of the advantage of this garment is that it is loose and light, not constricting.

The Brand Anthony Mark Hankins

Not Hawkins, not Hopkins Hankins. Over here in the UK I had never heard of him. However, Wikipedia enlightened me. He started as a metoric success, as a young black African-American deisgner. His clothes are modelled by mostly black, a few causcasian and curvy ladies. That suits me fine. Practical clothes. Not constricting.

Long skirts and covered arms are better for my profession, teaching, lifestyle, and age.


I do not go for the trendy, sexy, flaunting miniskirt, nor backless, nor off the shoulder, plungeline. This is better for me. Not the one-sided look with bare shoulders and bare backs, bare legs, naughty and not suitable for shopping, visiting my daughter in law, appearing at a conference wanting to look professional, to be taken seriously.

Many of his jackets don't have buttons. Lots of them look like mine. 

What is the name for a jacket without buttons, not meeting in the middle, looking like you bought a size too small, or put on weight so your clothes no longer fit? 

Open front jacket. 

Advantages of Open Front Jackets

This fashion is great. I really do have lots of jacket which don't meed in the middle. Now it looks like that is not a mistake, a misfit, but a style, a fashion, a statement, a way of displaying the contrasting colour underneath. 

What is a shrug? It is short like a bolero. But a bolero is tailored and thick. A shrug is like a tailored or cut soft fabric, a shaped shawl shaped like a short jacket. 

However my jacket is none of the above, not short, nor entirely open front. It does tie together, with a double tiny press stud at waist level.

Ribbons and Ribbons Ends To tie Belts

 The join is enhanced by decorative double ribbon ropes which tie togther. 

The tubular four ribbon ends each ending in a metal cap. I searched for the correct words for finding the caps. The magic words are metal and cap. Finial is the word used for the end of curtain rods. 

When I looked closely at the metal ends, I found they considted of three beads. Two were round and shiny. The middle one sandwiched between the other two was like Saturn with a raised ring around the middle. Suppliers could be craft shops, speciality sewing suppliers, and bead shops.  I would look around Spotlight in Singapore, New Zealand and Australia, and Hobbycraft in London, England. As well us the usual big boys such as Amazon.

Blue H & M Dress, dress of the day 393

But I had a white blouse, so I wore this. On the internet and on Facebook you can see lots of videos of how to tie a scarf, but mine is simply hanging, which partly obscures the cleavage.  Cleavage cover I had a choice. To insert a dickey or false front, also called a removable or detachable collar. I have one or two which are plain white.  The alternative which saves hunting for a matching dickey without distracting collar colours and embrodiery, is simply to add a fastening. I decided that a snap or press stud fastener in small size is qhich to fasten and unlikely to pull apart (as opposed to hook and eye. I read in the news today that the French have issued instructions on preparing a survival kit for householders.  Convenient Carry Bag Your house should have a bag you can carry, or sling in a car. Your handbag or tote bag or holdall should have a few essentials. When hiking I wear clothes with pockets and have a rucksack with have pockets water, food and sting relief, and insect repallent, and maps and phone numbers.
