Yellow, Etam top, black skirt, multicolor Outrageous jacket, summer outfit 573
Yellow adds a pop of colour to a summer outfit. Especially if you have bonde, white or streaky hair.
The Light Yellow Colour Top
I love the light, bright colour. It really would go well with green
Small Size Top - Solutions
The yellow top seemed too small. Tight on the bust and body. Tight on the upper arms. However, I put it on. I have managed to wear it all day. I wondered whether wearing it five minutes every day would gradually stretch it.
Cotton-Elastane Fabric
The fabric is 96% cotton but only 4% elastane. Amazing that such a small amount of elastane makes such a lot of stretch.
What else? wash at 40 degrees. Iron on setting one, which is cool. No bleach, no dry cleaning, no tumble drying. I don't even need to decipher which symbol is which, They are all crossed out.
Casual Summer Style
When I bought it, the sleeves were folded up to make a wide cuff. I folded the cuffs down to make slightly longer sleeves. I thought that would look better, less casual. The fabric thickness was also less bulky under the jacket sleeve.
The neck has no button, buttonhole, or fastening of any kind. I considered adding something, a press stud, hook and eye, to close it at the top, which would be smarter. Or add a fancy button, maybe black or yellow with gold, fastened with a loop.
The English and Other Languages On the Washing Label
The fun part of reading the label is that I can distinguish the Italian from the Spanish. I have just, today, finsihed the Italian course on Duolingo.com
Size
The size is UK 12, F for France 40. Eu for Europe 8. Curious.
The neck label has sharp corners. Because it has been heat sealed. I might have to cut off the corners so it doesn't scratch me. The blouse is too tight for me to wear a vest underneath.
The Black Skirt
The black skirt is short and old. Quick to put on for breakfast. Goes with everything. The label says made in the USA. Very stretchy sideways, but not downwards.
A black skirt is practical.
The Outrageous Jacket
The label on the multicolor jacket is Outrageous.
Etam Company
The Etam company started way back in 1916 in Germany. It moved to France and the UK. It is now based in France but has franchises in 28 countries.
The name comes from etamine, a cotton of worsted weight, used for lacey mesh.
Etam is associated with a few brands I had not heard of. I nonchalantly opened Livy and was astonished. Wow. Totally different, wild and wonderful, stunning fancy shapes of lace and cut outs. From the casual everyday look of Etam to the luxxury look of Livy.
Every time I investiagate a brand, a label, a company, a fabric, I find something new and interesting.
