Green is one of my colours. It goes well with blonde hair, as well as brown hair, red hair and black hair and white hair. Clean green.

Choosing to Support St Luke's

I bought this from St Luke's charity shop which raises money for hospices in London.

Who are the tourists in London nowadays? The latest results say that Americand are are top visitors. Americans are used to thrift stores.

I have a lot of clothes. Too many. I just emptied out the shower room so I could use it again as an en suite tolet at night and a shower room.

So when I see half a dozen items for only one pound in the cut price box of items which have not sold, I cannot buy them all. I was undeided about this item. 

Wallis Brand

But Wallis is a well known brand. So I bought it.

Style

It has a low v neck. A mock crossover style. A bit tight and figure hugging. Will go with a black or white skirt.

The Green Caftan

However, I wore it over the green caftan I was already wearing. I am a bit tired of the green caftan which is quick to wear in a hurry every day. When called for breakfast. Or to be ready to answer the door for a delivery of post or parcels.

After I took a photo, I realised I was wearing the caftan inside out.

Wallis

The name Wallis means from Wales, or a foreigner. (The same goes for the spelling Wallace, as in London't art gallery, the Wallace Collection.) The company was started in England by a man named Wallace. It's clothes were budget copies of Paris collections, produced quickly, as well as a Petite collection. The company expeanded worldwide and was later taken over. Then sold on. It is now in 2025 selling online and through Debenhams department stores in the UK. Survival Clothes and Kits For Holidays, Home & Away post 510

I read in the news today that the French have issued instructions on preparing a survival kit for householders.  Convenient Carry Bag Your house should have a bag you can carry, or sling in a car. Your handbag or tote bag or holdall should have a few essentials. When hiking I wear clothes with pockets and have a rucksack with have pockets water, food and sting relief, and insect repallent, and maps and phone numbers. I also put the hospital nubers in my phone. Survival Kit Everybody should have a survival kit by their door, as well as a first aid box in the bathroom and a burns kit in the kitchen. Also clothes! Japanese The Japanese are reputed to keep survival kit by the door. Why? In case of earthquakes. Travellers should have a first aid kit. In their suitcase or bag. And in cars. Plus spare clothes. Marks & Spencer coat reversed Post 409

If a coat has a label at the neck which shows, or one on the side seam, you could either cut it off or cover it with black ribbon sewn on. Some people, such as the royal family, are reputed to always include a funeral outfit in their packing in case it is needed. (I always pack a swimsuit, so as not to miss out, and an evening outfit, in case I get invited to a party or wedding or smart restaurant for dinner.)
