Notabag - The Compact Convertiable Rucksack Bag post 631 by Angela Lansbury



 I was unpacking my suitcase from a trip to New Zealand earlier this year when I came across a bright yellow fabric tote bag. I did not need a bag. But I looked at it. The colour was what i call screaming yellow. With large white circles or discs, a bit like large polka dots, but too big to be comfortably called dots.

Mysterious Unusual Straps

The bag was large and had wide handles. Something strange about it. What were those handles for? They were slotted through large reinforced buttonhole style slots. So the handles slipeed through as if you could adjust the bag in some way. Why were the handles through slits at the base of the bag as well as the top? Was it for carrying a baby on your front or back?

I looked at the label giving the brand name, Notabag. Why not a bag? Not just a bag, but something else as well, too long to put in the brand name. I found the company's website on the internet and all was revealed. 

Notabag History - Problem & Solution

The company started after a bike rider nearly has an accident trying to steer and hold onto a havy tote bag which was tipping his boke to one side. Afterards he wondered whether a tote bag could be redesigned to go onto your back like a rucksack. But also, unlike a heavy, bulky, boring black rucksack, but like a light tote bag, fold up when not in use. The hybrid bag 'born on a bike'.

Notabag Colours

A few designs and years later you can buy Notabag in various colours. You can choose a bag to co-ordinate or contrast with a particular outfit, or the colours scheme you wear most often. They do white with orange or green.  Or try out something new. A multipattern bag. Such a shocking, dramatic clash! Maybe draw attention to your notabag so that people ask you about it.

You can also buy a set in a box of three items, including a key ring to go on your wrist. For cycling. Stepping on stepping stones across streams or beaches. Wherever. That cost 50 euros. Maybe a Christmas gift from you, or for you if you already have everything else.

Survival Clothes and Kits For Holidays, Home & Away post 510

I read in the news today that the French have issued instructions on preparing a survival kit for householders.  Convenient Carry Bag Your house should have a bag you can carry, or sling in a car. Your handbag or tote bag or holdall should have a few essentials. When hiking I wear clothes with pockets and have a rucksack with have pockets water, food and sting relief, and insect repallent, and maps and phone numbers. I also put the hospital nubers in my phone. Survival Kit Everybody should have a survival kit by their door, as well as a first aid box in the bathroom and a burns kit in the kitchen. Also clothes! Japanese The Japanese are reputed to keep survival kit by the door. Why? In case of earthquakes. Travellers should have a first aid kit. In their suitcase or bag. And in cars. Plus spare clothes. Marks & Spencer coat reversed Post 409

If a coat has a label at the neck which shows, or one on the side seam, you could either cut it off or cover it with black ribbon sewn on. Some people, such as the royal family, are reputed to always include a funeral outfit in their packing in case it is needed. (I always pack a swimsuit, so as not to miss out, and an evening outfit, in case I get invited to a party or wedding or smart restaurant for dinner.)
