The Red Skirt
Red background skirt with black curly lines pattern on hem. 
Label Comfy clothes.Vintage.
The skirt is too long. I do not want to cut it nor even turn it up becase the pattern is on the hem. So I have worn it with the waist elastic under my arms.

Black Jacket
No buttons or closure. No collar.
Wide sleeves tapering to wider at wrists.sometimes called lantern sleeves?
No cuffs.
Label - Comfy Clothes by Alice Fabrics. 
100% cotton. Made in Cyprus.
Size small, but loose fit. The company used to specilise in large sizes, hence their name.

Bkack Blouse
Main design feature is neck tabs. They hold a scarf in place.
Label Cache d'or. Made in England. Size UK 14. EUR 40. USA 12.
Three epaulettes, one centre back of the collar. The other two halsf way beween the shoulders and tips of the collars, all sewen above and over the collar, sewn to the edge of the collar, with the V shape edge with the button outside the collar.
The V shape is echoied by the cuffs.

Buttons
5 small shirt buttons each with four holes, hidden inside the lacket down the front. Black buttons slightly larger with a shank at the back, one on each of the two cuffs, one at the neck, and three on the tabls, total, six. 

Press Studs/Snaps
Also two tiny see-through press studs.  Americans call them snaps. These invisable fastenings secure the central placket fabric nearly at the front above the top button, and over the chest, so no gaps, nor one side of the garment slipping sideways from being pulled away from the fabric below. Well finished..

Red thick fabric. Red snd gold metal. I have seen loads of these on the internet in assorted colours at affordable prices.

Red Turban Cap
Handy to dramatise a dull outfit. Cover hair which is uncombed, tangled, unwashed, need cutting, cut too short by over enthusiastic hairdresser, or has a visible line when you need a tint.

Slip On Black Shoes
Bought in the sale from Clarks. Black with light pattern which had faded, from having one shoe on display in the window. I painted the paler part with shoe colour.  The effect was not good enough in daylight but was fine at night and hidden under the desk in daytime.

I used to go to Brent Cross Shopping centre every week. I looked in all the shoe shops. I usually bought in Clarks because they had better quality shoes, including leather shoes and leather boots, at prices which were reasonable in the sales.

Survival Clothes and Kits For Holidays, Home & Away post 510

I read in the news today that the French have issued instructions on preparing a survival kit for householders.  Convenient Carry Bag Your house should have a bag you can carry, or sling in a car. Your handbag or tote bag or holdall should have a few essentials. When hiking I wear clothes with pockets and have a rucksack with have pockets water, food and sting relief, and insect repallent, and maps and phone numbers. I also put the hospital nubers in my phone. Survival Kit Everybody should have a survival kit by their door, as well as a first aid box in the bathroom and a burns kit in the kitchen. Also clothes! Japanese The Japanese are reputed to keep survival kit by the door. Why? In case of earthquakes. Travellers should have a first aid kit. In their suitcase or bag. And in cars. Plus spare clothes. Marks & Spencer coat reversed Post 409

If a coat has a label at the neck which shows, or one on the side seam, you could either cut it off or cover it with black ribbon sewn on. Some people, such as the royal family, are reputed to always include a funeral outfit in their packing in case it is needed. (I always pack a swimsuit, so as not to miss out, and an evening outfit, in case I get invited to a party or wedding or smart restaurant for dinner.)
