Tie Neck Dresses Look Terrific, from Leona Edminston, Australian, post number 623 dress with Angela Lansbury

My new friend Delponi at Central London Wine Society meeting, wearing this stunning, eye=catching tie neck dress.

The Dress

The eye-catching feature is the neckline.

The Neckline

The style is called tie neck. This version has long ribbons.

The Colour

The  ribbons are red. The red ties continue around the red edge of the ellipse shape neckline.

The Neckline Shape

What is the shape? It is not a keyhole. Not a scoop. Not a u-shape.

I call it an ellipse. An ellipse is a sub catergory of oval. (An egg shape is larger at one end. It is oval but not an ellipse.)

The fabric has a black background with tiny ballerinas in red, white and blue. The sleeves are long. The dress is long.

Where could I buy something similar?

Wikihow and you tube have tutorials, still and animated, showing how to sew a keyhole neckline, which is usually tear drop shape.

This dress was from Leona Edmiston, an Australian designer.
On her website in October 2025 I found lots of dresses, worn by tall slim models. One of the sale pages ofered two dress for a total of 200 dollars, 100 each.

Designs included lots of nice necklines, lots of prints. Date night dresses.

Fancy Hemlines
I liked the dress design with wave top bands around the hem.

Godets
Another attractive hemline design was contrasting godets of pink long triangles in a black fitted dress with a swing skirt. The website calls it fit and flare. Fitted above the waist. Flared skirt.
(Godets are inset hemline trianagles of contrasting colour fabric with points at the top).

Some activewear, unusually tight trousers in flower prints in two piece outfits.

I checked the company's current website. There's nothing like it. I did an image search im image google search, but found nothing similar.
The words tie-neck found me a blue dress which I shall show you in another post. I am now a fan of tie neck dresses. And my stylish friend.
