New (to me) Label Quacker Factory With Embellishments, Compared With Indigo Moon, post 646 by Angela Lansbury





I found Quacker Factory clothes while hunting for fun items with sequins

 They use rhinestones, all sorts of embellishments and styles.

 I was searching on ebay for my current (2025) favourite label, Indigo Moon. 



Indigo Moon Advantage

Their clothes are made in bright, strong colours. The colours are enhanced by sparkly sequins and bright beads. Just right for appearing on stage and being the speaker, poet, comedian or master of ceremonies (MC for short) or Toastmaster.

Up popped a new to me label, Quacker Factory.

At first glance it looks like quaker, but it's got an added c in the middle. 

How do they compare with Indigo Moon? 

Place of Origin - Indigo Moon Label

Indigo Moon clothes are made in India. Both words, India and Indigo start with the same four letters, Indi. 

Quacker Factory clothes are made, manufactured, in China. How can I remember this? Both words, Quacker and China contain the letters c and a.

Indigo Moon clothes are enhanced by applique, beads, embroidery, sequins.

Fabric, Creasing And Ironing

Indigo Moon clothes are a mixture of cotton and non-cotton, less likely to crease and need ironing.

Quacker Factory clothes are made of cotton and need to be ironed or washed and hung up to dry and pulled flat. Unless you have invested in a steamer and are willing to risk burning yourself, your hands, or face, in the steamer. Or you live or work or do business in a hotel which offers an ironing service or laundry returned in a bag. Or you live or work or do business in a place in Japan or Korea which has a machine which irons clothes instantly.

Choice of Items

Indigo Moon offers lots of items on ebay. In your size or selected colour you can find one to ten. If you just want a page of them, dozens.

Quacker Factory, even more. Hundreds.

Unless you want to spend an hour or two, or all day, you need to make a choice if you want to buy. Although if you are not yet ready to buy, it's entertaining to look. You are never bored, at least I am never bored, looking at clothes on ebay. 

Ebay Advantages

I love the prices on Shein and Temu. But I find it difficult to identify free shipping regardless of price separate from free shipping only if you one more expensive item or buy several cheap items. 

I like to keep half a dozen or more items in my basket. Then I can buy one a month, or one a week, and budget, spread my spending, find items in a hurry when I have a birthday or Christmas and somebody offers to buy me something, or I want a new outfit for an event, a seasonal event such as Xmas, Valentine's Day, my birthday. Ebay has a facility to pay only this seller. 

Pockets - Advantages

Indigo Moon clothes do not have pockets. I want pockets. Pockets to carry things. Pockets to conceal things. Handy for hiding a pencil, travel ticket, biscuit. Pockets for a handy hanky.  Pockets to hide your hands with peeling nail varnish. Pockets to warm your hands.

Pockets provide extra material. To patch up a hole or tear. To cover a stain. To add a pretty patch. To put on a contrasting garment to make the two look like a set, a suit. To make a link expanding the side seams. to add a placket under front buttons. To cover cleavage.

Is there any advantage to clothes without pockets? I hate one side pockets, especially breast pockets. I am already lopsided. Most people are. I like symmetry. Better no pockets than just one.

Pockets can pull out of shape and make the garment look old and untidy. Make you look old and untidy. 

Pockets can collect dust in the corners. Creates stains if the garment gets wet in the rain, or washed. The garment smells obviously old. Or it just doesn't smell fresh. But when you wash out and pick out the fluff the garment looks and smells better. Even if nobody else knows, you know your garment is clean.

Pockets can develop holes, from being old with the thread pulling apart, or being pocked by the tip of a pen, or pencil, comb, or other object.

I found a short sleeved Quacker Factory maxi dress with pockets in pink with a palm tree print. From QVC which stands for quality, value, convenience, a USA TV free to view shopping channel.

Suggested Searches - Sets

I tried searching for sets. Instead of putting together two from a seller who offers a reduction in price or postage when you buy to or more, save time by clicking on a set. As well as saving money.

My searches for sets, searching from price low to high, with horizontal layout which is quicker on my laptop,  found me sets of button covers.

Button Covers

The button covers which came up low price to high were  Xmas theme button covers, mostly sets of three, but also fours and fives. 

I found lots of sets from the USA. 

Quaker Factory Products

If you want pockets, there are lots of denim items with decoration of beads or embroidery or sequins. Sets include tank tops and co-ordinating covers. Beachwear. 

Update October 7 2025. 

I checked on the company history and found they were really big in the USA. The name co-ordinates with their symbol of the rubber duck. Two ladies who were friends founded the company and wanted it to be fun. They had great success on the TV shopping programme.

Survival Clothes and Kits For Holidays, Home & Away post 510

I read in the news today that the French have issued instructions on preparing a survival kit for householders.  Convenient Carry Bag Your house should have a bag you can carry, or sling in a car. Your handbag or tote bag or holdall should have a few essentials. When hiking I wear clothes with pockets and have a rucksack with have pockets water, food and sting relief, and insect repallent, and maps and phone numbers. I also put the hospital nubers in my phone. Survival Kit Everybody should have a survival kit by their door, as well as a first aid box in the bathroom and a burns kit in the kitchen. Also clothes! The Waistcoat With Palm Trees & Parrots From Shein (and straw hat) post 582 from Angela Lansbury

As you might expect  The St Luke's price was £3. I googled waistcoat, Shein, parrot, and the exact sme garment appeared immediately. The Shein model was wearing it over a white crop top with short denim shorts. The price was ten pounds plus three pounds postage. But as a new customer or returning customer (eg after a gap of several weeks not ordering) you might get offered free postage.  I like the fact that the patterns on the right and left mirror each other as if the parrots are about to speak to each other.
