17 odd gloves post 682
Success Sewing Ribbons Linking A Pair Of Gloves
The success of sewing a ribbon onto two gloves excited me. Double win. I would not drop or lose one when out. I could find the other one of a pair before leaving home.
Emboldened by my success at sewing a ribbon on a second pair of gloves, in pink, I went to check if I could find another pair in another colour.
Pairing Matching Gloves
To my astonishment I found an enormous number of gloves. at the end of half an hour trying to match up gloves, I had successfully found several pairs, in black, blue, long, short, ski gloves, and thin summer gloves, long gloves and short gloves, thin gloves and thick gloves.
Odd Gloves
I used to have an odd sock problem but now I had an odd glove problem. After pairing up a few, I still had seventeen odd gloves left over. When I told my husband, he quipped, 'You don't have 17 odd gloves. You have 34. You just can't find the other 17 !'
I had assumed that all the missing gloves were dropped on the floor, at restaurants. Or left behind on trains. Or dropped in the street.
But my husband could be right. The odd gloves could be lurking, lonely, at home. They might be lost in deep pockets of coats and jackets. Or in handbags. I shall have to go through all the pockets of my jackets and coats.
Gloves In Sets Of Matching Gloves, Hats & Scarves
I have at least one set of gloves which came matching a hat or scarf. If I find them, I shall keep them together. Not just folding the gloves inside the hat or scarf. My first thought is using a large safety pin.
Making An Organizer Holder
My second thought is a plastic bag to hold both the hat and scarf and gloves set. That is the least work.
Scarf Sewn To Make A Glove Pocket Or Scarf Slit
The next thought was to seam a scarf to make a pocket large enough to hold the matching gloves. Or maybe one fold at each end of the scarf to hold one glove. Maybe a flap at neck level, with a small hole, large enough to thread through the end of the scarf to hold it in place, l shape, with the long end in front, or over your shoulder.
You can buy fingerless gloves. Touch screen gloves with thin fingertips or one cut off fingertip. Fold back top mittens. Fingerless gloves with zip pocket for door keys, car keys, or hand warmers.
Novelty gloves which look like the thumb is a goose's beak. Gloves with cat motifs.
