 Update on the odd glove saga

I went thought the pockets or a lot of coats and jackets. Success! I found two odd gloves. I was able to match up a pair.

Sorting Gloves

I was astonished at how many pairs of gloves I have. Pairs of gloves rolling around hidden under hats on the hall cupboard shelf. Stuffed inside pockets of matching jackets and coats. 

I now have three bags of gloves.

A  Priority Pairs Of Gloves

 Pink or Red Pairs of gloves

 - Waiting for a linking ribbon to be attached. Six pairs.

B Non Priority Pairs of Gloves

Black, blue, brown, and other pairs of gloves which are not priority.

C Odd gloves. 

They wait for me to find their missing partner. If none appears in the next year, I have several options.

1 Use them as hidden liners for other gloves for winter.

2 Cut off the tips of the finger, or the index finger, of the right hand gloves. for use when typing at home and wanting to keep warm. One warm hand is better than none.

3 Turn the odd gloves into glove puppets.

You can make a puppet with a different character face on each finger. 

4 Use them for dusting. You could use plastic gloves from hair tint as linings or covers.

5 Cut off the fingers and used them as hidden wrist warmers under sweaters, or hidden ankle warmers under trousers (which Americans call pants).

6 Dye them all black.

7 Use them for gardening.

8 Turn them into dolls' dresses. Cut off all fingers to make a tube dress. Or a pencil skirt for a Barbie doll. Or leave two finger for the arms, even one in the centre, but cut half way for  a polo neck, with bare shoulders. 




9 Match Up A Pair, and Make A Glove Puppet

Make a pair from two gloves. Buy another identical pair. Or always buy two identical pairs.

 If you have two gloves, whether or not matching, you can make a glove puppet.

Take glove one and turn the fingers inside and roll down to make a head, Then fix this on the middle finger of the other glove, glove two. Turn inside the outside fingers of glove two, leaving two fingers either side of the head as arms.

Survival Clothes and Kits For Holidays, Home & Away post 510

I read in the news today that the French have issued instructions on preparing a survival kit for householders.  Convenient Carry Bag Your house should have a bag you can carry, or sling in a car. Your handbag or tote bag or holdall should have a few essentials. When hiking I wear clothes with pockets and have a rucksack with have pockets water, food and sting relief, and insect repallent, and maps and phone numbers. I also put the hospital nubers in my phone. Survival Kit Everybody should have a survival kit by their door, as well as a first aid box in the bathroom and a burns kit in the kitchen. Also clothes! Japanese The Japanese are reputed to keep survival kit by the door. Why? In case of earthquakes. Travellers should have a first aid kit. In their suitcase or bag. And in cars. Plus spare clothes. The Waistcoat With Palm Trees & Parrots From Shein (and straw hat) post 582 from Angela Lansbury

As you might expect  The St Luke's price was £3. I googled waistcoat, Shein, parrot, and the exact sme garment appeared immediately. The Shein model was wearing it over a white crop top with short denim shorts. The price was ten pounds plus three pounds postage. But as a new customer or returning customer (eg after a gap of several weeks not ordering) you might get offered free postage.  I like the fact that the patterns on the right and left mirror each other as if the parrots are about to speak to each other.
