Temu Ladies Clothes Sets

I spent hours looking at different sets, styles, colours. For my summer holiday, holidays, this year, next year, forever. What I was originally looking for was this, a long dress with a long matching coat, to make me look co-ordinated, elegant. And taller.

Jacket Length

Thickness and Weight

I knew from previous experience that short jackets would be matching fabric to the dress. The long jackets, however were not even as thick as duster coats, but an ultra-thin, almost see-through fabric. Never mind.

The sleeves are too long. That leaves me with several options. The simplest and quickest is to turn them back into a cuff.

I like the jacket left open. It shows the lively pattern of the dress.

The Dress Style - Spaghetti Straps

I had not wanted spaghetti straps. You need something to hold bra straps out of the way, or a co-ordinating vest. The straps slip off. You expose too much around the arm pits for elegance, showing bits of bras, or breasts. No protection from insects. No protection from stares. Unsuitable for conservative countries.

However, I loved the colours. Eventually, reluctantly, I took a risk and ordered this.

Dess and Coat/Jacket Size - XL

Was XL a good idea? I chose XL to be sure that the jacket was not too tight on the upper arms. I used to order clothes and underwear from China and found it was much too small, difficult to pull on, sometimes impossible to pull on, uncomfortable to wear, likely to tear.

I also wanted larger sizes so that a short skirt would come down longer. 

Shortening A Skirt

In theory, a long skirt can be cut to make a scarf. 

However, that is less likely to be possible if the skirt hem is circular, or curved. Sometimes the fabric is likely to fray, and hard to sew neatly.

Dress & Jacket Too Large? 

Too Long? Both dress and jacket were too long, likely to trip me up.

Shortening the dress

I tried shortening the dress by simply pulling up the spaghetti straps. You could remove them and sew the top of the dress together, making sure it was wide enough to go over your head.

The dress and jacket both came carefully folded in tissue paper.
