Comfy clothes slit sides overdress - how to store folded. Dress of the Day post 782 by Angela Lansbury
Comfy Clothes
The label says Comfy Clothes and by Alice Fabrics.
The descriptive label says it all, summarises it all. Why comfy? All cotton. The clothes were designed for large ladies. The production was done in Cyprus. I bought from their warehouse cum shop in Queens Park.
The clothes suited me. They had long skirts and long dresses. Because they used a lot of material, they cost more than a teeny miniskirt.
When they had end of season sales and a last sale before they went out of business I bought several outfits and half outfits.
They had one design of an underdress and sleeveless overdress with slit skirt, showing the dress underneath, in co ordinating colours, the added flower or abstract pattern on the top garment.
Both parts could be worn separately, or with other garments, best of all as a pair. So three options if you bought the two garments together.
Storing Clothes Folded Flat
Storing clothes folded saves on hangers. Shelves protrude less than a hanger width from a wall. But you have to teach yourself or staff how to fold all the clothes neatly the same size. You can do this with a folding plastic device. I bought one. Or save the thin card from shirts sold flat in pockets. Or just cut out a piece of card. Or use an inexpensive cutting board or tray. Lots of you tube videos show you how to fold clothes.
The shop stocked them flat and folded. You could see them all at a glance in a neat pile. Arranged by colour and size. However, when I got them home I stored them on hangers, handing from a high rail in the shower room.
The Overdress And Skirt
The overdress with slit sides is from Comfy Clothes. The sleeveless overdress with sides slit to the wait should have matching underdress in a plain colour.
Features of this company, who produced clothes for the larger figure, were large armholes, swing skirts or double slit overdresses, and large pockets.
Because of the slit sides, the overdress needs an underdress or a long skirt in the same or similar colour. With a pattern on the top garment, you need a plain colour underneath.
I either lost the underdress in this colour or never had it. So I wore a skirt from Comfy clothes in brown, which looked like it was a match at night under artificial lighting.
The Green Next Top
The Next top in a muted green was the best match I could find in a hurry. It was a ity not to wear the top simoly with the skirt, because the top has so many good features.
