The Dress

Orange abstract dress.


The Angle Length Coat

Long orange co-ordinating semi - see-through coat. Sometimes described as chiffon.

Long orange chiffon coat, part of one dress and jacket set, but co-ordinates with two dresses, so it is handy on holiday.

The Hip Length Jacket

Indigo Moon light summer jacket, bought from Ebay. I bought it because I loved the triple colours, in horizontal strips.

The jacket which I bought in cold springtime was lighter than I expected


The Lost Button

I lost a button. From lower down. I considered moving the top button down, then adding a fancy button at the neck. That involved finding a button the right size for the buttonhole. One which matched the elegant and slightly bohemian style of the garment and the metal material slightly military style of the other buttons. It involved removing one button and sewing on two, with the right colour cotton.

Luckily the jacket has a spare button. But I was too busy.


Update

I found a spare button on the shower room floor. Where should I put the button? In a button box containing mixed buttons it would disappear and be forgotten. 

My Solution

First put the button somewhere conspicuous. Then put the found button on a safety pin and pin it to the garment. Make a note in my diary to sew it on when I have more time at the weekend.

    Sweater embroidered with mock pearls matches my hat pinned with mock pearl brooches.  I had never worn this pale grey sweater  I thought pale grey was a boring colour and always opted for something brighter such as royal blue or bight red. Stripey Red & White Socks, thigh high, and tights - outfit 679 by Angela Lansbury

  I bought a pair of knee high red and white stripe socks in St Luke's charity shop. At one pound or under, you can't lose much. (Their charity fundraising shops are in NW London in Hatch End, Harrow Weald and elsewhere.) Why did I buy the long socks, in hard to match, garish, childish, stripes - after hesitation and consideration? The Advantages Of Long Socks The  length was attractive, at this time of year. I often need long socks under a midi skirt. For warmth in winter. And not to show bit of bare legs above socks. To co-ordinate colours. Advantages and Disadvantages of Red and White Stripes I like red. It's fun. White can show dirt quickly.  Red and white is a bit restrictive. It will clash with patterns, only go with plain reds and whites. But under a table at dinner or on Zoom nobody else will notice. Nor will I. I will only feel them.
