The Joy Of A Useful Sewing Box

What is the most useful thing in this sewing box? The first thing I need when I need to sew is number one.
1The self-threading needle. Or,
2 The metallic needle threader.
But, before I start sewing, sometimes I need
3 A seam ripper
but I can sometimes make do with
4 Small sharp pointed scissors.
No point in having a needle with no cotton.
5 Black and white spools of cotton are most useful. Needed most often.
6 The other spools of colours of cotton thread are handy.
7 Smaller to pack on holiday, and useful for those hard to find colour,
the plait (Americans say braid) of mixed colour cottons, already cut to useful lengths.
