  I went attic shopping, looking for free items in my own wardrobe in the spare room. I found a red top, but short sleeved. I like to wear long sleeves to look businesslike on zoom meetings. I found an orange jacket which was too hot and heavy to wear in the hot, humid, summer weather. The jacket has a satin-look lining and huge shoulder pads, the fashion of several years ago. Since I was not wearing the jacket anyway, I wondered if I could make the coat lighter by cutting out the lining.  That would also create a second lighter jacket. The second jacket provided sleeves. Here is the result. The outfit has the sleeves from the jacket lining. The paler blue is across the waist The darker blue is from the top of the hip to the hip hem. The white turned a creamy colour., the way pillowcases do. I loved the triple bands so much that I dyed the white top a pale blue. The modern technical term if you are doing a web search is colour block. The brand is Massimo Dutti, cotton, made in Portugal. The cotton is thin and lightweight, comfortable, XS. Blue Apron Front From Playsuit The fabric looks like cotton. No label. I must have bought it in a sale becuase it was cheap and I liked the fabric. No way would I wear a playsuit with a bare back. I love the colours. The all over vibrant royal blue, which matches my eyes, and the clean, fresh white, with the curves of the bird wings, and the touches of vibrant red. I simple slit the crotch. I needed to wear  a collar with it because I am on Zoom internet meetings, so I found a yellow silk blouse to co-ordinate with the top edge of the green linen-like dress. The fiber is called Ramie, which grows in Asia. The Dress The dress is a stiff, rough 100 per cent ramie fabric and creases. The colour is fabulous, bright green and yellow. (I have enhanced the colour slightly by editing it in the mobile phone using Auto.) Just sitting at my desk looking down at the skirt, the colour lifts my spirits.  The label says Davinci, size 10, 100% ramie, made in Hong Kong, sample, not to be sold. Maybe the assistant had not noticed the label.  Maybe they were selling it anyway. Maybe I saw it hidden on the back of a rack and it wasn't supposed to be sold but the assistant decided to sell it to me anyway.  Maybe I wanted the non sample half and the assistant wanted to make...

 It's the singer 3232. Automatic needle threader and one step buttonhole.  I saw a similar one by Brother in Popular book store. The price was reduced for Chinese New Year. My husband said I could have it for my birthday in March. Two things were wrong with this idea. Firstly, by March the price had gone back up to double the special Chinese New Year offer. Secondly, my husband had gone off the idea of buying me another sewing machine! I should have just ordered it myself. Then I found this small, cheap machine by Singer. Small machine, but no buttonholer and no self threading. Smallest lightest machine with no cord, runs on batteries. Read the reviews on Amazon. It is not the lightest if you are holding it up to repair the top of a curtain. But smaller if you are travelling to a sewing class or group. You need to order the 6 volt power device, because batteries apparently last only about half an hour.   If you don't mind a four step buttonhole, you can buy a machine...
