Dress Of The Day with Angela

Since I hope to use it on several garments, I have added red ribbons to tie it on and I used it as a detachable collar.  The Blue Eyes Often my eyes are a disappointing grey colour. I often wear blue, which seems to improve them, but I thought this was an optical illusion to do with having blue elsewhere in the picture. Then I read an article about blue eyes are colourless like water, lacking the brown pigment, and which are like the blue sea and blue sky and change colour reflecting the surroundings. This is really good news. It means that the blue I wear does get reflected in my eyes which act like a mirror and appear much bluer. In this picture I have the red collar matched by my lipstick.   Do you have any items of clothing which have different patterns on the inside. (Or linings?) Here's one I found. A picture is worth a thousand words. A picture was more effective in the old days. That was the case when Confucius said it, in an era when most people were illiterate. But this picture shows clearly how I achieved two totally different looks when I took off the top and it was inside out. I looked at it and thought, I wonder how that would look if I wore it inside out? The sewing around the neckline could be hidden by a scarf. If I had the etime and energy i could sew a soft black ribbon over it. Matt edging would create a casual look. Satin ribbon would suit a more glamorous evening look.  A jacket could concel the back of the neck, the shoulder seam and the sleeves. The only giveaway was the white label down the side seam.  Did I need them? Would I wash the garment with the frou frou front by hand anyway in water which was not too hot? I would not use bleac...

You may have seen the top in my posts before showing it the right way around with the leaf effect. The top was from Primark in Harrow, London, UK. Under the blue top is an orange short sleeve vest. I thought, that orange doesn't go with the blue. But then I added the orange hat. I went to look for an orange scarf and found one with brown and blue. Almost never worn, because of the unusual combination of colours. Now I had a use for it. Let me just tell you about the source of the top which started this outfit. Primark. Yesterday I chose a plain colour jacket in pale coral pink, picking out the colour of the scarf, plain rather than print to show the print on the edge of the scarf.  The Scarf Fabric The fabric is see-through and light-weight. It does tend to run easily. If I see a thread hanging, I cut it off before it can catch on something and pull tight. The Buttons This scarf is the same construction as the one in the previous photo.   The scarf is now worn over a wine clour tee-shirt. The look is upgraded by the scarf timmed with pearl buttons. I have turned the scarf for a new effect, instead of pearl buttons down the front, the buttons are now down the tops of the arms. To complete the colour co-ordination I have a tote bag with dark red handles.  Here's a close up of the back of the buttons. You can see they are fixed through both edges of the scarf. On the back is a tiny round stud. This was the dress of the day 186 with the 3 pearl buttons down the front (and three more down the back). Underneath is a tight wine colour jacket with sleeves.
