Red outfit For a Red Wine Tasting Evening, dress of the night post 501

Image
Angela Lansbury in red outfit for wine tasting. Photo by Trevor Sharot. I wore a black top with red sleeves, an Anthony Skicari top, and a red Indigo Moon skirt, both in red rather than the white Anthony Sicari top I first selected. Why? Because my evening out was a wine tasting and I did not want red wine to stain my top, nor the skirt. The red and black combination colour of the top was easy for me to co-ordinate with other clothing items and accessories.  The Red Skirt Indigo Moon label red skirt. Has embroidery. No pockets. The thick fabric is warm for mid-season. Although Indigo Moon is a vintage label it is easy to find. I saw twenty or more Indigo Moon skirts, jackets, and complete suits were are available on ebay. Long Red Jacket The red cape jacket with open sleeves has the label Be Jealous. I think the open sleeves are elegant. But you have to beware of it slipping off your shoulders. Especially if you buy a large size, which I do in the hope of added length and no...

Packing For Summer Season Weather - secrets of success and failure lessons for the future post 500

Image
I was packing for a trip from cold England in January, stayng in New Zealand for three weeks January to February.  Did I need 21 day and evening otufits? I tried on complete outfits to see that I had boleros or jackets to match. I also checked accessories, shoes or sandals to match all the evening outfits, and an evening bag to go with all the colours. I packed both red solid shoes and brown sandals for daytime. Silver sandals for the evenings. Plus belts for skirts or dresses which were too long and trousers wwhich were too big around the waist. Matching Evening Bags I picked an easy to pack roll-up U-shape sequin shoulder bag for evening in goldy pink.  For a better match, I had a compact to pack, flat, silver foil-effect, square tote bag.   I packed enough outfits for a  different one every day of the week, and every evening. Seven summer daytime outfits. Seven evening outfits.  Plus the warm weather, red, Indigo Moon skirt, and mustard indogo Moo...

Anti Mosquito Clothes post 499

Image
On holiday in New Zealand in late January and early February it is sumertime there, despite being winter when we left England. Escaping the cold British winter was one of the reasons for the timing of our trip. Insect Exposing Styles I found that sleeveless dresses, low necklines and short skirts exposed me to the annoyance of insects and the irritation and ugly marks of their bites. Insect Protection Clothes Bolero jackets exposed my forearms. So for travelling to restaurants I wore a hooded (pink) anorak.  For eating outdoors, I carried in my large bag a long scarf (in co-ordinating turquoise to match the dress, or pink to match the anorak, or orange or pink or red to contast with the turquoise dress which I wore most evenings on holiday. Anti Insect Spray In New Zealand on holiday the friends I stayed with had Bug Off anti insect spray. On ebay I found an inexpensive citronella and lemon grass spray at 3.99 pounds sterling with free postage.

The half-transparent pendant shows the red fabric behind it, and co-ordinates beautifully. Selfie photo by Angela Lansbury.. Copyright. Red outfit. Half-transparent pendant against a green background. Pendant against a red background. Pendant against brown. Pendant agaist purple. The Skirt The red skirt is from label Indigo Moon. Bought from ebay. Vintage. You can find many sIndigo Moon label skirts, tops and occasionally matching skirt suits or trouser suits (pant suits) on ebay. The Red Scarf The red scarf is a piece of remnant fabric from Spotlight store in Auckland, North Island, New Zealand. It cost under five pounds. No need to cut or sew the edges. I could wear it staright away. The only problem was that the remnant rolled up and fastened with sticky tape. (In the UK we use the brand name Sellotape.) The sticky tape when removed pulled off a few of the gold foil dots. However, when I wore it, the missing or damaged dots were not noticeable. Note to myself. Never put stick ...

Cut-out white dress worn by Sher, with boyfriend Kit wearing Jandals, post 495

Sher with dress to impress new boyfriend, Kit, on Valentine's Day. Sher in sheer delight white outfit, with boyfriend Kit. Photo by Angela Lansbury. Copyright. They met in Vancouver. This photo is of them was taken in Man o' War beachfront winery in New Zealand in February, New Zealand summer. She is wearing white. Summer white to reflect the light.  She is petite. The long skirt makes her look taller and can hide high-heeled shoes.  The bare midriff and cut-out shoulders and lack of sleeves give her body access to the sunlight.  Sexy. Huggable. Touchable.  Attention to the pretty face, and long black hair. As Kit is so tall, he would have to stoop to hug her around the waist. So the off-the-shoulder top invites him to hold her shoulders instead. New Zealand Dress Code New Zealanders wear shorts and short sleeved-shirts in their summer, the last of which is February when the schools resume. New Zealanders don't wear short sleeves and shorts only at lunch time. ...
